Ski Rixen USA is America's original cable wake park, proudly operating since 1983 in the scenic Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, Florida. As the first full-size cable system installed in the United States, and the enduring US flagship location, we brought the groundbreaking vision of German engineer and inventor Bruno Rixen to American waters.
Our Story: America’s First Cable Park
In the 1960s, Bruno Rixen grew frustrated with the high costs, long waits, and environmental drawbacks of boat-towed water skiing. He invented an electric-powered cableway system that tows riders smoothly around glassy water - no boats, no waves, no noise, no fuel - making the sport more accessible, affordable, and eco-friendly for everyone. His innovation launched the world's first commercial cable park in Benidorm, Spain, in 1966, sparking a global revolution in cable water sports. By 1983, his patented technology arrived in Florida, establishing Ski Rixen USA and helping fuel the rise of wakeboarding nationwide.
For more than four decades, Brita Schipner, our passionate owner and operator, has been the heart and soul of Ski Rixen USA. Growing up in Germany immersed in Europe's vibrant cable ski scene, Brita brought her expertise and dedication to Florida, where she has personally taught thousands of riders (from beginners to pros) and fostered a welcoming, family-oriented community. Under her leadership, we've welcomed over 1.5 million happy riders and built a legacy of safe, thrilling experiences for all ages and skill levels.
