What Makes Night Rides at Ski Rixen USA Unforgettable?

When the sun sets over Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, our cable turns into a moonlit playground for wakeboarding and waterskiing. The lights come on, the water glows, the air cools down, and everything feels a little more magical.

Since 1983, Ski Rixen USA has been America's first full-size cable park, bringing Bruno Rixen's innovative cable-pulling system to Florida waters. His invention made the sport accessible and smooth - no boats, just endless glassy laps - and we've been building on that foundation ever since, creating lifelong memories for riders of all ages and levels.

Our recent revival of night rides has added a whole new layer of excitement: peaceful sessions under the stars, fewer distractions for focusing on your ride, and those electric #NightRide event nights with music, good food, and friends sharing the cable. Whether you're a longtime supporter who's been coming back for years, a family making new traditions, or someone discovering the thrill for the first time, our team is here to welcome you, keep you safe, and help you progress.

The best part? It's all about the riders - the smiles after a clean trick, the cheers from the dock, the stories swapped afterward. That's what keeps this place alive and growing.

Why Night Rides Feel So Right Here

Safety & Tips for Night Riding

Our team knows that safety lets everyone focus on the fun, the progression, and those special moments on the water - especially when the lights come on and the vibe shifts to something magical.

Night riding brings its own unique feel: cooler air, glowing reflections, and a quieter rhythm that can help you tune into your ride. To keep things smooth and enjoyable for everyone, here are our team's top recommendations:

  • Event Dress Code & Glow - For our #NightRide events like March 20th & 21st, bring a white or neon shirt to layer over your lifejacket (mandatory - no shirt, no ride). We'll hook you up with a glowstick for your helmet to boost visibility and that cool neon vibe. Always pair it with your mandatory life jacket and helmet, plus LED lights on your board if you have them.
  • Gear Up for Visibility and Protection - Always wear a life jacket and helmet (mandatory at the park, no exceptions - safety first for all skill levels). Add LED lights to your board or skis - they help you see the water better and make sure others spot you easily in the low light.
  • Stay Aware of Your Surroundings - Keep an eye on other riders, listen for calls from the dock or your group, and communicate clearly. The team will guide you on how night conditions change things like depth perception or cable feel.
  • Dress for Comfort - Florida nights can cool down quickly, even in summer. Layer up with a light jacket or rash guard so you stay warm and can ride longer without getting chilly.
  • Follow the Park's Guidelines - Stick to our cable park rules (we follow WSIA standards) and any night-specific instructions from staff. They're there to help every rider have a great, safe session.
  • Hydrate and Take Breaks - The excitement can make you forget, but stay hydrated and step off for a rest if needed - the water's always waiting for your next lap.
  • Pro Tip from the Team - If it's your first night ride or you're trying something new, chat with an instructor beforehand. They're happy to share pointers on handling the handle at night or adjusting your stance for the glow.
